"As a young man, I fished on these unpredictable waters of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska for many years as well as out on the Aleutian chain. 
This was a very personal commission.
The Mariners’ Memorial Wave Wall incorporates sculptural waves seen in stormy and calm days.
The top silhouette of the bright metal wall shows the long swells of the open ocean.
I designed the Wave Wall to curve around the Memorial Plaza just as our memories wrap around our friends and loved ones lost at sea."
